On this full-day tour you’ll travel through the beautiful Scottish countryside, visiting some of the most memorable filming locations used throughout the series. From historic castles to charming villages that stood in for 18th-century Scotland, this tour is the perfect experience for fans of the show and lovers of Scottish history alike.

Tour highlights

Falkland Village – Inverness (1940's)

The picturesque village of Falkland Village stood in for 1940s Inverness in the very first episode of Outlander. Wander through its charming streets, spot the iconic Bruce Fountain, and see familiar sights including the Covenanter Hotel, where Claire and Frank stayed.

Culross – Cranesmuir village

This beautifully preserved 17th-century village became Cranesmuir, where Claire accused Geillis Duncan of witchcraft. Wander the cobbled streets and explore the charming Culross Palace, which appeared as Claire’s herb garden.

Doune Castle – Castle Leoch

One of Scotland’s best-preserved medieval castles, Doune Castle served as Castle Leoch, home of Clan MacKenzie. Fans will instantly recognise the courtyard where Claire first meets Colum and Dougal.

Linlithgow Palace – Wentworth Prison

This magnificent ruined palace doubled as the infamous Wentworth Prison in the series. It’s also one of Scotland’s most historic royal sites and the birthplace of Mary, Queen of Scots.

Midhope Castle – Lallybroch

Start your Outlander adventure at Jamie Fraser’s beloved home. Midhope Castle was used as Lallybroch, the Fraser family estate. Walk up the famous driveway and capture photos of one of the most recognisable locations from the series.

Blackness Castle – Fort William

Known as the “ship that never sailed,” this dramatic fortress served as Fort William in Outlander. It was the setting for some of the show’s most intense moments involving Captain Jack Randall.
